“I get great satisfaction from working with my clients to build long lasting relationships and pride myself on the level of trust they place in me. My business has grown over the years, largely through referrals from my existing clients, which hopefully says something about the way I treat them. Every client is different, with varying goals and with different aspects of life being important to them. I never lose sight that it is their money I’m advising on, not mine and so I always encourage their involvement. It is a privilege to help each one of them to work towards acheiving their goals”

Steve has worked in the Financial Services industry since 1991 and moved from the UK with his family in 2006. He worked for major UK pension and investment companies and worked in business development, management and as an adviser to the public. Since his arrival in New Zealand, Steve has worked as an adviser and, in addition to his investment knowledge, he has a wide understanding of UK Pension Transfers from his UK experience and ongoing study in the area.

Steve is a member of the Institute of Financial Advisers (IFA) and the Professional Advisers Association (PAA) in New Zealand. He has recently completed the National Certificate in Financial Services and also holds the UK’s Financial Planning Certificate in addition to completing Tax, Trusts, Investment and Retirement Option papers of the UK Advanced Financial Planning Certificate.

During Steve’s time in Financial Services, he has worked with both clients and advisers during two of the most difficult periods in investment history: the 1997 stock market crash and the Credit Crunch of the late 2000’s. “This experience has reinforced my belief that clients who understand their options and particularly their own attitude to risk, feel more in control of their own circumstances. I, therefore, take great satisfaction in helping them with this process of understanding”.

Away from work, Steve is a family man and loves to travel with his wife Jane, and his children, Sam and Elle. Being a Brit, he loves his football (round ball!) and helps in coaching his local team and following Sam’s rise through age grade football in North Canterbury. To relax, Steve loves nothing more than cooking for family and friends.
