“I have worked with many clients from a wide range of backgrounds and at various ages and stages in their lives. They all have different goals and ambitions that they want to achieve and my time as their financial planner is spent finding out what is important to them and assisting them in achieving their lifestyle goals and objectives, whatever they might be. I consider it a great honour that clients trust me to help secure their future financial security.”
Kevin holds a Graduate Diploma in Business Studies (endorsed in personal financial planning) from Massey University, is on the executive committee of the Institute of Financial Advisers (IFA) for the Otago region and was licensed as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) in 2006. Kevin has worked in the financial industry for over 25 years. Kevin previously worked for a major trading bank from 1987 to 1999, the last 4 years as a manager in both Queenstown and Dunedin. In 1999, Kevin moved to the financial planning industry to enable him to work more closely with clients and help provide longer term guidance to them.
Working in the financial planning industry over the last 12 years has allowed Kevin to help clients navigate some of the most difficult market conditions. Kevin believes that having a financial plan is at the core of financial success for his clients. “Having a financial plan is like a road map for clients, allowing them control of their own destination. I find that clients who are aware of the options they have and understand the impact of their choices, make better quality decisions. I take great pleasure in helping them with this evolving process.”
Away from work Kevin enjoys going to the movies, the theatre and live music with his wife, Sandra. They enjoy following their children, Curtis and Abby, in their various sporting pursuits. Coming from a large family Kevin enjoys socialising with family and friends and his other interests include playing golf, fishing, reading, walking and swimming.
