“I believe that sound and practical financial advice is the necessary cornerstone for managing everyone’s investments whether it is building long term retirement savings or generating income for those already in retirement. I have successfully worked with many clients over the years and established enduring relationships based on trust and a high level of service.”
Brian has worked as a financial adviser for over twenty years and holds a Diploma in Business Studies (endorsed in Personal Financial Planning) from Massey University as well as being a member of the Institute of Financial Advisers and a Certified Financial Planner
Having initially qualified as a Legal Executive and working in a law firm, Brian gained a sound knowledge of trusts and estates through a role as Estate and Trust Manager which enables him to work effectively with Trustees to meet the often complex requirements of beneficiaries. Brian also works with a number of charitable organisations helping to establish their investment policies and objectives and implementing those strategies.
Since 2001 Brian has worked as a financial adviser for Perpetual and is a member of the Perpetual Investment Committee. “I enjoy the satisfaction of structuring a plan for clients and moving with them from an often ad-hoc investment approach to one that is focused on their specific goals whether, that is to build the portfolio value for future retirement or to generate income and maintain the capital.”
Away from work Brian enjoys camping holidays with his wife Helen and two adult children. He enjoys travel and outdoor pursuits. Both Helen and Brian have a shared passion for gardening and rhododendrons in particular with Brian being a past president of the Canterbury Rhododendron Society. Brian is also an Elder in his local Presbyterian Church.
