“I strongly believe that clients should never feel they are just a number. Personal and genuine concern for what is happening in their lives is always paramount to me. I accept that trust can take time to build and I feel that all clients need to respect you to trust your counsel. Developing a relationship with my clients so they feel they can pick up the phone to call me about any aspects of their life is important. It is not enough to say you’re going to do something – following through and doing it is what is important.”
Joanna joined Perpetual in April 2007, prior to which she had 17 years experience in the legal field. This experience includes many years as a registered paralegal specialising in criminal and family law. Additionally, working in both small and large firms dealing with a variety of estate and trust clients, conveyancing and commercial law has provided a well rounded background and provides a valuable cross-over to her role as a Trust Consultant.
In order to ensure her skills become more honed on the Estate and Trust administration field, Joanna has successfully completed several semesters of study with the University of Western Sydney. Her Certificate in Financial Services (Personal Trust Administration) will be finalised over the coming years. “With the diversity of clients I have dealt with in my career I have developed the ability to relate to people from all walks of life. These skills are invaluable in building relationships with existing or new clients. I feel that maintaining open and honest lines of communication is an important part of helping them work toward their financial or personal goals”.
Outside of work Joanna has a passion for interior decorating, renovating, food and wine, and enjoys socialising with friends and family.
