Christchurch Casinos Charitable Trust

The purpose of this charitable trust is to fund organisations who provide treatment for people with addictive and compulsive behavioural problems.

Background

The Christchurch Casinos Charitable Trust was formed by Christchurch Casinos Limited in 1994 when the casino first opened.

Trustees

The trust is managed by Perpetual Trust in its role as Administration Trustee. Annual donations are decided by the following Charitable Trustees:

  • Karen, Lady Hadlee (Chairperson)
  • Sir John Hansen
  • Barry Corbett
  • Pamela Lindsay

Donation Criteria

Applicants must be active in the area of assisting individuals and/or families who are suffering the effects of addictive or compulsive behavioural problems, including the effects of gambling. Only not for profit community based organisations and agencies registered as a Charitable entity with the Charities Commission are eligible. The Trust's main priority is to help people first. Preference will be given to applications from the Canterbury area.  Please note: Applications for purchasing or restoring buildings and equipment will not be considered. Funds are not awarded to individuals for travel purposes.
